1. Purpose

squatting.website is a domain cybersquatting detection tool designed for defensive and educational purposes. It helps brand owners, security professionals, and domain administrators identify potentially malicious domain registrations that could be used for phishing, brand abuse, or fraud.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use this tool only for lawful purposes, including:

  • Protecting your own brand or domain from cybersquatting threats.
  • Security research and awareness.
  • Defensive domain registration to prevent abuse.
  • Educational purposes related to cybersecurity.

You agree not to use this tool to:

  • Register domains for malicious purposes (phishing, fraud, impersonation).
  • Engage in automated abuse or excessive requests beyond rate limits.
  • Circumvent rate limiting or access controls.
  • Resell or redistribute data obtained from this tool without permission.

3. No Warranty

This tool is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy or completeness of DNS availability results.
  • That all possible squatting variations are detected.
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service.

DNS-based checks are not equivalent to WHOIS lookups. A domain marked as "Available" may still be registered but have no DNS records configured.

4. Rate Limiting

To ensure fair usage, the following limits apply:

  • Web interface: 100 requests per hour per IP address.

Exceeding these limits will result in temporary access restrictions (HTTP 429).

5. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall squatting.website or its operators be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use or inability to use this service, including but not limited to damages from reliance on the accuracy of results.

6. Intellectual Property

Domain names displayed in scan results are property of their respective registrants. This tool does not claim ownership of any domain names. Trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners.

7. Changes

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
